VOLUNTEER AT THE EXPERIENCE

By volunteering at the Experience, you will have the opportunity to serve and meet others, learn about the AIDS pandemic, the Experience, and World Vision. Servers walk through the exhibit with the ticket holders while volunteers who are helping set up or tear down will get to choose another time to do a walk through. Training for all volunteer shifts will be provided once you arrive on site. Serving in the Experience will provide you with an opportunity to walk through the exhibit, however if you are helping to Set Up or Tear Down, you will need to pick another time to walk through. Come a few minutes early to find the volunteer room, sign in, and meet the Tour Staff!
Here is what you can expect during each shift:
Set Up: On the day of set up, our 53-foot, bright orange semi-truck containing the exhibit will arrive on site. Come help us unload and build the 2,500 square foot exhibit in your church! You must be at least 16 years old and able to lift 50 pounds.
Please wear close-toed shoes and work clothes-gloves are recommended!
Serving in the Experience: The exhibit requires 12 people to operate at all times. Here, you will fill a variety of different roles where you can learn about the AIDS crisis and share what you learn with visitors. There is something for everyone here-you can spend time talking with visitors about their experience, hand out audio players, role-play as a health worker, and much more!
Tear Down: Tearing down the Experience will take place in two different shifts. The first one will happen on the evening of the last day of the Experience - if you are a night owl, are over 16 years old, and can lift more than 50 pounds, this would be a great fit for you. The second part of tear down will take place the next day. For this shift also, you must be 16 years or older and able to lift at least 50 pounds.
